The police have detained 27 migrants who illegally crossed Slovakia's Schengen border with Ukraine in the past few days, according to Police spokesperson Denisa Baloghová. The migrants, who came from Afghanistan, Vietnam, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan and Tajikistan, were smuggled across by two Ukrainians and hoped to reach Western Europe. Some of the migrants have already been expelled while their helpers have been charged with people smuggling.
