A film by Slovak director and scriptwriter Marko Škop "Nech je svetlo" (Let There Be Light) received two awards at the International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, the Czech Republic, on Saturday. The film narrates the story of a father working abroad who returns home for Christmas to find out that his son has joined a paramilitary youth group and has become involved in an incident that has shaken the local community. Apart from an award for the best male acting performance given to the Slovak actor Milan Ondrík, Škop's new film also received a 'Special Recognition' award. The film is due to be screened in Slovak cinemas as of September.
