More than a dozen wannabe political parties have recently announced initiatives to collect at least 10,000 signatures from the public in order to apply for official registration at the Interior Ministry. These include entities with names such as Šariš (a traditional region in north-eastern Slovakia), Roma Democratic Movement, Roma Party, Pirate Party, Greenhorns-Civic Initiative, People from the Street, and former president Andrej Kiska's political project For the People (Za ľudí). More than 150 political parties are already registered in Slovakia.
