New gambling regulatory office in full swing

The Gambling Regulatory Office is since its establishment on June 1, 2019 in full swing. Since mid-2019, all competencies in the field of gambling have been gradually transferred from the Finance Ministry, municipalities and the Financial Directorate to the new body. Bringing most of gambling regulations "under one roof", should make their oversight more effective. In particular, the new office controls the licensing, supervision, imposition of sanctions, administration of levies and contributions. At the same time, it works with the relevant authorities in the area of ​​combating money laundering and the prevention of gambling addictions. When setting up the gambling regulatory office, the Finance Ministry found inspiration in similar institutions in other EU countries, such as Denmark.
