In May 2019 revenues for own goods and activities increased in accommodation by 11.4 percent, while those in pubs and restaurants rose by 10.2 percent and those in the sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles went up by 1.6 percent, the Statistics Office reported on Thursday. Conversely, m-o-m drops in revenues were recorded in May in retail - by 1.9 percent, and in wholesale - by 1.6 percent. Revenues in the sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles rose by 6.8 percent year-on-year in May. This was largely due to higher revenues in the sale of motor vehicles - by 10.1 percent, and in sales of parts and accessories of motor vehicles - 0.9 percent. Meanwhile, revenues in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles fell by 3.2 percent. Revenues in wholesale were 0.8 percent lower than in May 2018, while revenues in retail decreased by 2.7 percent y-o-y.
