State budget deficit at almost €1.5 billion

The state budget deficit in June reached €1.49 billion, according to the Finance Ministry. This meant a widening of the budget gap by almost €918 million year-on-year , which can be attributed in particular to an installment paid for military aircraft in March. At the same time, total state budget revenues soared by 2.6 percent in annual terms while total expenditure increased by 15.2 percent. For the whole of this year, the state budget expects a deficit of €2.04 billion.
