A group of psychologists have launched the Chcemsazabit.sk portal to help young people thinking about suicide. They want this site to be the first one found on the Internet by people looking for information on how to end their lives. "We want them to find professional help quickly and easily," said psychologist Marek Madro. The new portal offers an opportunity to connect immediately with an expert who is ready to intervene and save a desperate person's life. "The portal also provides quality information on how to temporarily overcome anxiety or information for loved ones and professionals. We will constantly update it," said Madro. Since the beginning of this year, he and his colleagues have seen an increase in contacts with desperate teenagers. "Our professionally trained psychologists have talked about suicide with young people up to 913 times so far, of which a third were in acute crisis when their lives and health were at risk," Madro said.
