Deceiving the state is no longer as attractive to Slovaks as it used to be. The volume of illegal income has shrunk and there is less illegal work. The portion of shadow economy on Slovakia’s GDP is therefore the lowest among the new EU member states, shows a study by the Johannes Kepler University of Linz and the consulting company A.T. Kearney.
