A mandatory one year in pre-school will significantly help children from marginalised communities later in their lives, Government Proxy for Roma Communities Ábel Ravasz (Most-Hid) claimed on RTVS's discussion programme Saturday Dialogues, concurring with MP Natália Blahová (SaS). Both Ravasz and Blahová believe that a number of details must be fleshed out first, however. When asked how the Government intends to ensure that children from Roma settlements will make it to pre-school, Ravasz replied that this is to be addressed by so-called soft measures. The position of a coordinator tasked to work with families in marginalised communities is to be created to deal with such issues.
