The invitation for Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to the Slovak National Uprising celebrations in August did not come from the presidential level. President Zuzana Caputova announced this in a diplomatic note sent to Belarus. "Mr. President should be invited by the president of the republic," stated Caputova, who believes that her announcement will be a clear signal to Lukashenko. Parliamentary Chairman Andrej Danko invited the Belarusian delegation to celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of the SNP celebrations during his visit to Belarus in early June.
