Comenius University celebrates 100 years

On Thursday, June 27, the 100^th Anniversary Celebrations of the Comenius University in Bratislava peaked with a celebratory academic assembly. On this occasion, the University's rector, Marek Števček, awarded the highest prize of the University - the Great Gold Medal - to the Head of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic, Pavel Rychetský. "To us, Rychetský is an example of personal and moral integrity, a person whom we deeply appreciate. Moreover, we also want to show how closely we are tied with Czech higher education," said Števček. On the occasion of the 100^th anniversary of Comenius University in Bratislava, the Slovak Post will issue a postage stamp and a commemorative letter. The nominal value of the stamp is € 1.90 and it depicts the portrait of Jan Amos Comenius and the main university building on Šafárikovo square in Bratislava.
