The One Day Jazz Festival, organised by world-famous Slovak drummer Martin Valihora, will begin at Bratislava Castle on Tuesday evening, symbolically opening the Bratislava Cultural Summer. The eleventh annual festival will be host to world as well as domestic jazz stars. Valihora stressed that the festival's leitmotif is humanism and tolerance, and that the performers were chosen with this in mind. The Bratislava concert will be launched by popular Czech Roma singer Ida Kelarová and her project Čhavorenge, accompanied by the Czecho-Slovak jazz trio and the Bratislava Boys Choir. As usual, 200 successful students from Bratislava secondary schools will attend the June opening concert free of charge.
