Slovak MEPs in EP factions

The Slovak delegation to the European People's Party (EPP) faction in the European Parliament (EP) will again be led by Ivan Stefanec (Christian Democrats/KDH), with Monika Benova (Smer-SD) becoming head of the second most numerous Slovak delegation to the EP - the Social Democrats (S&D). The members of the Slovak EPP delegation are Ivan Stefanec (KDH), Vladimir Bilcik, Michal Wiezik (both Together), and Peter Pollak (OLaNO). Stefanec also held the post in the previous electoral term (2014-19). Benova has become the first ever Slovak to make it to the EP for a fourth consecutive term. The other members of this Slovak EP delegation are Miroslav Ciz and Robert Hajsel (both Smer-SD). Slovak MEPs for Progressive Slovakia Michal Simecka and Martin Hojsik announced before the European Parliament Elections their intention to strengthen the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE). Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) MEPs Lucia Duris Nicholsonova and Eugen Jurzyca are set to confirm whether they will remain members of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), while the two MEPs for the far-right LSNS, Milan Uhrik and Miroslav Radacovsky, are in the non-affiliated group.
