Obchodna street incident being scrutinised by inspectors

The incident on Obchodna street in Bratislava last Friday (31 May) is being dealt with by the Interior Ministry's inspection unit, said Interior Minister Denisa Saková (Smer-SD) after the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, adding that she plans to meet with the police officers who intervened in the event. The incident began in front of the Finance Ministry on Štefanovičová street. An attacker, who wanted to get into the ministry building, was behaving violently and stabbed a member of the Financial Administration. The police subsequently caught up with him on Obchodna street, about one kilometre from Štefanovičová. As the man did not respond to the police's calls, they used a firearm to stop him, accidentally wounding a 15-year old girl who was passing by.
