Peter Kažimír, two-time finance minister replaced Jozef Makúch at the post of the Governor of the National Bank of Slovakia on Monday. Kažimír was introduced to the post by Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini. Kažimír served as Deputy Finance Minister from 2006 to 2010 and was the Finance Minister from 2012 to 2019. In 2017 he unsuccessfully ran for the post of chairman of the Eurozone finance ministers' group, the so-called Eurogroup.
