Is Maroš Šefčovič joint candidate of V4 for EU Commission Head?

Serving European Vice-president for Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič from Slovakia has allegedly been chosen as the joint candidate of the Visegrad Four grouping (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) for the post of future European Commission president, the Czech daily Hospodarske Noviny reported on Tuesday. It quoted sources close to Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and some from the European Commission. Reacting to the report, Šefčovič said that the decision to nominate the President of the European Commission (EC) was in the hands of EU leaders communicating with the European Parliament but he is ready to capitalize on all his previous European policy experience. UPDATE: Late on Tuesday afternoon, however, the Czech PM Andrej Babiš denied the information that Šefčovič would be the proposed joint candidate of V4 for such position.
