On Thursday, May 23, the election campaign before the European Parliamentary elections ended, with polling having already begun in the Netherlands and Great Britain. The European elections will be held in Slovakia on Saturday (25 May) from 07:00 to 22:00. Voters in Slovakia get to choose from 31 political subjects. The voters can, but do not have to, circle the candidate's number on the selected ballot, and thus give a preferential vote. A maximum of two candidates per ballot may receive a preferential vote. Slovak citizens residing in Slovakia, as well as citizens of other EU member states who have permanent residence in Slovakia, have the right to vote. 824 citizens of other EU member states have registered for the possibility to vote for Slovak candidates. Slovakia is allocated 14 seats in the European Parliament.
