Migration is the favourite topic of disinformation channels

Migration as an existential threat to Central Europe is the most common narrative of groups on Facebook spreading disinformation in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary, according to research done by Globsec, a Slovak think tank. It analysed 2,468 posts on Facebook to see which political parties are being promoted on these channels, what narratives are dominating in the context of the upcoming election to the European Parliament, and whether the narratives overlap across countries. Other topics that have appeared in all three countries were "the dictate of Brussels" and the threat of liberalism undermining traditional values. The proposed answer to these problems offered on the posts in those groups is supposed to be nationalism, mobilisation, and orientation of voters towards nationally thinking politicians who will help to protect the countries from their threats.
