In Wednesday's key match at the Ice Hockey World Championship, Slovak hockey players lost 2: 3 to Germany. After four matches in the group stage of the tournament, the Slovaks have only three points and occupy the sixth place in the group. Thus, the Slovaks no longer have the chance of progressing into the quarterfinals in their own hands and must rely on the mistake of at least one of the three teams Finland, the US and Canada. The Slovak team will play its next match on Friday, May 17 against France.
