Nationalists want to sustain EU

"We don't want to tear the European house down, we want to repair it instead", Slovak party We Are Family leader Boris Kollar said on Monday at a conference entitled 'Europe of Nations and Freedom' in Bratislava, which also featured France's National Rally chief Marine Le Pen. At the conference, she also rejected the idea of her country leaving the EU, stating that new opportunities have emerged for changing Europe from within. Boris Kollar rejected claims that allying with political parties that are known as nationalist is extremism. "Extremism is what has been happening in Slovakia over the last 30 years, i.e. deceiving, stealing and cheating on the part of the governing elites," he said. Several dozen protesters gathered in front of the conference venue in Bratislava including opposition MPs to show their disagreement with the presence of Marine Le Pen and other far-right politicians at the event.
