Far-right party comes second in polls

If the parliamentary elections had been held at the beginning of May, the current largest party of the governing coalition, Smer-SD, would have won them with 19.1 percent of the vote, according to a poll released by AKO agency on Tuesday. The far-right Kotleba-Our Slovakia party (ĽSNS) would have come in second with 13.9 percent. The party whom the Supreme Court decided not to dissolve last week, because the prosecution could not prove its fascist ideology, has gained almost 2.4 percent in support over a month. The coalition of extra-parliamentary parties Spolu-Progresivne Slovensko (Together-Progressive Slovakia) would have ended up third with 13.7 percent followed by liberals from SaS at 13.1 percent. In total nine parties would have cleared the 5 percent threshold needed to make it into Parliament.
