Almost half of the representatives of small and medium enterprises, and big companies too consider the administrative burden concerning employing foreigners as the biggest obstacle, indicates a ČSOB bank survey carried out on behalf of the TASR press agency. The survey also showed other obstacles. More than 40% of the companies admit that they have a problem with language barriers, 25% have issues with the unreliability of their employees and 23% of the companies think that their employees have bad work habits.
The survey showed that big companies were those, which had the biggest issues with the administrative burden. Almost 60% of them consider it a problem. The small enterprises and the self-employed saw the administration as a problem only in 33% of the cases. Almost half of the small and medium enterprises admitted that they have to deal with language barriers, whereas it was only 35% in the case of big companies. The unreliability of foreign employees is most common in small enterprises.
According to the latest data, 70,793 foreigners were employed in Slovakia by the end of March. The figure grew by almost 19,000 y-o-y. Foreigners looking for a job in Slovakia come from the EU but also from third countries. The most numerous group of foreigners working in Slovakia are Ukrainians (14,944 in March), followed by Serbs (12,843) and Romanians (10,368).
