"I do not intend to hold a complex conversation during my face-to-face meeting with US President Donald Trump", Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) told journalists on his flight to the United States of America on Wednesday, adding that he wanted to tackle relations between the USA and Slovakia specifically. Pellegrini is to meet Donald Trump on Friday, 3rd May. Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák, who is accompanying Pellegrini to Washington, stated that during the term of former US president Barack Obama, he had had the feeling that the United States was not politically interested in Central and Eastern Europe. Meanwhile, following his talks in Washington last month with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and US National Security Advisor John Bolton, Lajčák thinks that bilateral relationships are excellent, highly valued by the US and problem-free.
