HC Slovan will pay its debt to city hall

Ice hockey club HC Slovan Bratislava signed an agreement with a new strategic foreign investor on Monday, according to the TASR press agency. The investor's name was not made public but the club will now be able to pay off its almost €1 million in debt to the city of Bratislava. "Based on an agreement with representatives of the Bratislava city hall, the club will pay off its current debt for renting and utilising services at the Ondrej Nepela ice hockey arena in Bratislava by June 30, and will also negotiate terms for using the arena in the next season," read a statement released by the club. HC Slovan should also remain in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in the next season once the management of the league definitively approves it.
