In Slovakia robots could replace as many as one third of jobs within 10 years, indicated the latest study by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The number could reach even 40% in the west of the country. On the world-wide scale, robotics could replace 14% of jobs. "In Norway, for example, only 6% of jobs are in danger. Central and eastern Europe could be affected the most, as there are many low-qualified jobs here," said Lenka Buchlíková, an analyst from the Slovenská Sporiteľna bank. However, the OECD does not expect the situation on the job market to be critical. Only low-qualified jobs will disappear and the more sophisticated ones will survive, such as servicing machines. They will require workers to requalify.
