On Thursday, 11 April, hundreds of volunteers dressed in yellow can be seen in the streets of the Slovak towns. They collect donations as part of the so-called Daffodil Day, a regular fundraising event aimed at supporting patients with cancer. Every year, 34,000 people in Slovakia are diagnosed with cancer. The Slovak League against Cancer uses the money collected during Daffodil Day for projects designed to help cancer patients and their families.
