In an away-from-home session in the remote north-eastern town of Medzilaborce (Prešov region), the Cabinet on Tuesday allocated more than €1 million chiefly for infrastructure projects in an underdeveloped district, which will also include a financial boost for a museum dedicated to leading pop art figure Andy Warhol. The Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art needs the funds to buy hardware for audio-guides, according to Vice-premier for Investment and Informatisation Richard Raši (Smer-SD). Andy Warhol's parents were both born in the village of Miková in the Stropkov district, and emigrated to the USA in the early 20th century. Also included in the amount were funds to help religious communities in the area connected with the Byzantine Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church with minor reconstructions. The outlying area of north-eastern Slovakia is studded with wooden churches that were constructed without the use of a single nail or any other binding material.
