Marian Kočner, who faces charges of ordering the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak, has refused to have his SMS communication with the former Prosecutor-General's first deputy Peter Šufliarsky published, according to TV Markiza. Šufliarsky, who resigned last month following revelations that he actively exchanged messages with the controversial businessman, has pledged to make them public. He said he wants to offer evidence for his statement that he hadn't discussed anything of importance with Kočner, and that the exchange of messages was only a matter of common courtesy and professionalism. Later, Šufliarsky claimed that he is legally barred from making the content of his communication public solely on his own, citing the Telecommunications Act which requires the other party to consent to his doing so. Kočner's lawyer Marek Para has confirmed to TV Markiza that no such consent will be given, as this could thwart the investigation into leaks from police files that involve his client.
