Transport Minister Arpad Ersek (Most-Hid) was to face a no-confidence motion on Friday. The opposition's attempt to oust him failed on Thursday, as Parliamentary Chairman Andrej Danko was not able to open the special parliamentary session since not enough MPs showed up in Parliament for the session to be quorate even at the third time. Opposition MPs accuse Ersek of halting the construction of the Visnove tunnel, northern Slovakia, on the D1 motorway and blames him for uncompleted highways and the deteriorating state of roads.
The Government disagrees with Ersek's dismissal from his post. At its session on Wednesday (April 3), it adopted a resolution that the minister has been meeting the Government Manifesto.
