On the occasion of International Roma day, i.e. April 8, the US embassy in Bratislava has organised on Friday the fifth annual football tournament, at which two Roma teams were facing six teams composed of politicians, diplomats and journalists. The Roma from western Slovakia were represented by a selection of players from Plavecky Stvrtok, Bratislava region, while Roma from eastern parts of the country were represented by players from the notoriously poor Roma borough of Lunik IX and Moldava nad Bodvou (both Kosice region), the embassy informed the TASR press agency.
