On Thursday, Slovakia's capital Bratislava is commemorating 74 years since its liberation from Nazi Germany rule. "The joint attack by the 7th Garda Soviet Army with the support of the tank divisions including the 2nd Romanian Tank regiment and the Danube fleet started on April 2," writes the historickarevue.com website. Bratislava was liberated two days later on April 4, 1945.
