German investor to create 100 new jobs in Svidnik

A German investor plans to create over 100 new jobs in Svidnik (Presov region), according to local mayor Marcela Ivancová as cited by TASR press agency. This could provide a chance of employment for workers who are to lose their jobs at the clothing company I.C.A., which announced in February that it plans to lay off 103 employees. "The new project requires no special education from future employees, they just need to be skilled in sewing," said Ivancová. The German investor, whose name was not made public, had no special requirements from the municipality. "We have offered to rent our buildings to the firm. The firm's owner hasn't chosen any yet. Negotiations are still ongoing. He plans to rent commercial premises from a private businessman. We believe that they'll manage to come to an agreement and that a contract will eventually be signed," said Ivancová.
