The election campaign before the second round of the presidential election has ended and an official moratorium on all campaigning came into effect as of 7 a.m. on Thursday. Until and during Election Day, there is a ban on campaigning as well as informing about the candidates for their benefit or detriment. The election runoff takes place on Saturday, March 30 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. More than 4.4 million people are eligible to vote for the Slovak president. This figure does not include Slovaks living abroad. They can vote, but they must come to Slovakia, as it is impossible to vote in the presidential election from abroad. Voters will decide between Zuzana Čaputová and her opponent, Maroš Šefcovič. The new president is scheduled to take office on June 15.
