Slovakia’s foreign trade in 2013 posted a surplus of €4.429 billion, making it the highest ever in the country’s history, the Slovak Statistics Office informed on Friday. Overall, Slovak exports last year reached €64.466 billion; an increase of 3.7 percent year-on-year.
At the same time, total imports to Slovakia went up by 2.5 percent to €60.036 billion. Slovakia had the highest foreign-trade surpluses with Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, UK, and France. The highest deficits on the other hand were posted in trade with South Korea, Russia, China, and Japan.
