President Andrej Kiska asked public media company Radio and Television Slovakia (RTVS) for the opportunity to make an extraordinary address to the nation on Wednesday, 27 March, with respect to the ongoing presidential election, Kiska's communication advisor Roman Krpelan stated on Tuesday. The runoff round of the election is slated for Saturday, 30 March, between 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Voters will decide between Zuzana Čaputová, who won the first round with 40.57 percent of the votes, and her opponent Maroš Šefčovič, who garnered 18.66 percent. The next president is scheduled to take office on 15 June.
