Parliamentary Chair Andrej Danko and his Czech counterpart Radek Vondráček are in Rome for a two-day visit to the Vatican, during which they will have an audience with Pope Francis. This is Danko's second audience with the Pope since his tenure began in 2016, his spokesman Tomas Kostelnik said on Thursday. The visit is organised at the initiative of Slovakia on the occasion of the 1,150th anniversary of St. Cyril's death, as well as the 95th birthday of Cardinal Emeritus Jozef Tomko. The trip will also afford an opportunity to commemorate figures of Czechoslovak modern history, with both parliamentary chairs slated to lay wreaths on memorials of Alexander Dubček, Jan Palach and Milan Rastislav Štefánik.
