At its regular session on Wednesday the Cabinet approved a bill modifying, via temporary measures, several laws to be introduced in the case of a hard Brexit. The bill's aim is to adopt necessary measures that would prepare Slovakia for this situation and minimise at least some of the immediate negative impacts. The Cabinet at the same time approved a fast-tracked procedure for this legislation. The risk of a hard Brexit increased again on Tuesday (March 12), when the British Parliament for the second time rejected a deal hammered out by the EU and British Prime Minister Theresa May. Meanwhile the British Parliament voted on Wednesday evening to reject a no-deal Brexit under any circumstances.
