Bratislava airport saw fewer travellers but higher profit in 2013

Some 1.37 million passengers used Bratislava's M.R. Štefánik Airport (BTS) in 2013, which represents a drop of 3 percent year on year. According to BTS chief Ivan Trhlík, the drop is lower than the one that was initially foreseen (of 5 percent).

At the same time, the airport raised its operating profit-before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation-from €4.1 million in 2012 to €6.3 million a year later. This rise was fuelled in particular by a year on year increase in revenues coupled with savings in operating expenditures.
