The Interior Ministry internal affairs office began to investigate the reported screening of journalists, Interior Minister Denisa Saková (Smer-SD) confirmed on Wednesday. "All of this is still happening as part of the (murdered journalist Ján) Kuciak case, I've got no access to this. It's up to the Special Prosecutor's Office to inform the public, if it chooses to do so," said Saková. When asked whether the misuse of public official's powers might have taken place, the minister responded that she would know only once the investigation was concluded. The Interior Minister claimed that the ministry would need to address the screenings also in a broader context, as the issue has grown beyond the sole jurisdiction of the Interior Ministry.
