Police officers from the National Crime Agency (NAKA) are carrying out house searches in the towns of Poprad and Spišská Nová Ves, Prešov region, regarding counterfeit entry tickets for the Ice Hockey World Championship, set to take place in Slovakia in May. According to the police report published on a social network on Wednesday, the officers have detained two suspects so far. According to the police, the operation, code-named 'Macejko', which also happens to be the name of the championship mascot, is being carried out in relation to a criminal investigation into fraud concerning the sale of championship tickets. The police stated that they would publish photos of the fake tickets, adding that they would also inform the public about how to tell the difference between bogus and genuine tickets.
