As part of the "Folklore - The Spirt of Slovakia" project, traditional Slovak culture will be supported with €1.5 million in 2019. "Professional as well as non-professional folklore bodies and individual artists can apply for the support," said Culture Minister Ľubica Laššáková. Ensembles can apply for support of up to €60,000 with 5% compulsory co-financing. According to the Culture Ministry, the money can be used for covering expenses to create a performance, travel expenses, the purchase of traditional folk costumes, issuing a CD or creating promotional materials. Individual artists can apply for a scholarship of up to €5,000. The Folklore - The Spirit of Slovakia project is conducted by the Slovak Ministry of Culture.
