Financial Intelligence unit Director resigns

Pavol Vorobjov is leaving the post of the director of the financial intelligence unit at the National Criminal Agency (NAKA). "He asked for his transfer into a different police department as of March 1, following an agreement with the Police President," a spokesman for the Police Presidium Michal Slivka informed the Pravda daily. At this moment, he cannot specify his transfer. Vorobjov had worked in this post since September 2017. Last year, he was ordered by his superior to screen journalist Jan Kuciak, who was later murdered. The former head of the anticorruption unit, Robert Krajmer, is resigning from the Interior Ministry as of March 1. "Mr. Krajmer asked for the termination of his work contract and is leaving the Interior Ministry as of March 1, 2019," the interior ministry's press department informed. Krajmer left the National Criminal Agency following Kuciak's murder after being criticized for his presence at the crime scene during the investigation.
