The planned national water transport provider on the Danube River might operate under a trial run for up to two-and-a-half years, said Transport Minister Arpad Eršek (Most-Hid) on Monday. He assumes that after some time the state will have to begin supplementing the money obtained from fares. A navigable water route on the Danube River should run primarily between Bratislava and Šamorín (Trnava region) under the project. An already-existing company should be given the role of national water transport provider, according to a document sponsored by the Transport Ministry that has already been okayed by the Government.
