The World Bank agreed on Friday with the Slovak Education Ministry to cooperate on the National Programme of the Development of Education. "The involvement of the prestigious international organisation in the audit of science and research infrastructure in Slovakia will help us eliminate the needless politicising of these issues," said Education Minister Martina Lubyová (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee). The collaboration is mostly to focus on issues related to the audit of science, research infrastructure in Slovakia and the quality of university education. On Monday, the minister is facing an opposition-initiated no-confidence motion in the parliament, due to her alleged failure to distribute fairly research and development subsidies.
