Slovakia pays 0.6% of final costs for NATO HQ

The final costs of the construction of the new NATO headquarters in Brussels and putting it into operation have reached €1.2 billion. Slovakia's share was 0.6 percent of the total amount based on an agreement between the allies. The final bill for the new, more modern and above all safer NATO headquarters was confirmed earlier in February by Belgian Foreign Affairs Minister Didier Reynders. The Slovak Ambassador to NATO, Radovan Javorčík, stated for TASR that Slovakia's share was set in advance in accordance with a specific distribution key. He also said that so far he had not received any official information about the final bill. The new HQ in Brussels was officially opened in May 2017.
