Slovak economic growth slowed down to 3.6 percent in the 4Q18, a development many analysts found surprising as they expected the growth to exceed 4 percent, TASR learnt on Thursday. The latest figure prompted analysts to revise the economic outlook in a more conservative fashion, taking into account the slower economic growth of China, the eurozone as well as a potential hard Brexit. The onset of a new crisis is not expected at this stage, however. Under new revised estimates, Slovenská Sporiteľňa analyst Katarina Muchová expects Slovak GDP to grow by 3.4 percent this year, with UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia analyst Ľubomír Koršňák arriving at an even more conservative figure: 3.2 percent instead of the original 4.3 percent.
