Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák wants to publish evidence concerning the sale of carbon-dioxide emission-quotas in 2008 that were recently provided by Switzerland to Slovak police, spokesperson of the Special Prosecutor's Office Jana Tokolyova said on Tuesday.
According to Tokolyova, Special Prosecutor Dušan Kováčik has received a letter from Kaliňák asking for the money transfer orders to be published. Kováčik will deal with the request in line with the Penal Code, and will react within a few days, said Tokolyova. The scandal dates back to Premier Robert Fico's first government (2006-2010); which at the time mostly concerned junior governing party the Slovak National Party (SNS). It was to be debated in Parliament at an extraordinary session on Tuesday, but Fico's Smer-SD party eventually blocked the motion.
