Slovak president Andrej Kiska is ready to nominate nine judges of the Constitutional Court without undue delay. He announced this in his extraordinary speech in the Slovak Parliament on Thursday, as the MPs begin the debate preceding the vote of 18 candidates. Out of these, the President is supposed to pick nine new Constitutional Court judges. Based on Thursday morning's vote by the Parliamentary Constitutional Committee, Ex-Prime Minister Robert Fico meets the statutory conditions for a judge of the Constitutional Court. According to opposition MPs, Fico did not declare enough experience to apply for a post at the Constitutional Court. The committee voted in the ratio of seven to six in favour of Fico's candidacy.
