Within a few weeks, the Slovak Foreign Police will introduce a nationwide ordering system for appointments for all categories of foreigners applying for residence permits in Slovakia. So far such a system has been available only for future employees of strategic companies such as shared service centres for example. The Police add that more officers will be relocated to the offices of the Foreign Police which are the busiest, as the growing number of foreigners increases the administrative workload of some departments. About 120,000 foreigners live legally in Slovakia, 65,300 of whom come from outside the European Union, according to police statistics. Year-on-year, the number of residence permits issued to foreigners increases by 10 - 15 percent.
