Ex-police corps president Tibor Gašpar will step down from the position as advisor to the Interior Minister Denisa Saková (Smer-SD). Saková announced this move before her meeting with the Slovak president Andrej Kiska. Last Thursday the daily Denník N reported on Gašpar giving an order to screen murdered journalist Ján Kuciak in the police database only a few months before the murder. In such cases, the police are looking for basic information such as an address, family relations, or gun ownership. According to Denisa Saková, they have agreed with Gašpar on his leave.
